Many sellers assume that the best way to reach customers by email is spamming – or sending unsolicited bulk email. Not so. Here are five ways to use the ethical email to promote your product or service.
Many companies have tried to use electronic mail for advertising – only to receive a flood of abuse and revenge from angry internet users. A Harris survey of computer users revealed that, apart from those that are receiving the bulk unsolicited email, 42 percent want to stop receiving it. According to Time magazine, unsolicited email waste now explains 10 percent of all Internet traffic and up to 30 percent of 26 million messages per day at America Online.
